Driving At Night (Animal Kingdom)

I've driven home at night on a number of occasions and I always see wildlife, standard. But last night I was driving home at 2:30am and I saw 4 Foxes, 2 Deers, 1 Badger, 3 Rabbits, 2 Cats & 1 Dog (Just roaming the streets). Along with a number of previously killed animals on the road.

I found myself driving at such slow speeds the entire way home, despite being the only bugger on the road. Must just be the area I live in, would rather live in the city!

The weirdest thing I ever saw, though, was when I was going out to my friend's house in the country. All the field mice were running across the road...just hundreds of them.

I bet that was actually quite an awesome site to witness? It's funny how animals just have no sense of direction, the deers just panic and start jumping round infront of you and the fox didn't even bother to move. I had to drive round him

It was definitely strange. It was like 0630 in the morning and I wasn't sure exactly what I was seeing until Pam said "look at all the field mice." The only deer I've ever "hit" actually ran into the side of my car AFTER I had avoided hitting him. 2 little tiny dents from where his antlers hit.

Haha, so you avoided hitting the deer? Did him a favour... then he turns round and rams you! Love it! Still got the same car with the antler dents?

Yes to ALL of the above!!! LOL I was actually on my way to Veronica's house to do some partying w/ her and Jersey when it happened. I have a picture of the dents somewhere...they're very small, but they still piss me off. There's also a HUGE fucking dent in the trunk from where I backed into a boat trailer. I keept meaning to have it fixed, LOL

We've all been there when it comes to getting round to fixing cars! There's a couple of things I've been meaning to get fixed for months now just cant be bothered to sit and wait at a garage! Rather attempt the repair myself (Hense why it's never going to happen.)

Yeah, I had a cracked windshield for like 2 years. Finally got it fixed last year. But I keep my normal maintenance up to date, so yay for that.

Yeh, I get my car serviced once a year and obviously put it through an M.O.T aswell. Humans 1... Wildlife... 0!

Young lad i know,driving home at night through the countryside had a deer jump over a hedge straight in front of him and no way he could miss it,front of the car totalled....deer managed to walk away.....Bastard lol.

Poor kid worked his arse off to buy that car and then cost him thousands to repair it.

Ouch! That isn't fair really, when nature takes your money like that and walks away with a grin on it's face! He should have chased after the deer on foot, skinned it and sold the skin to start a new car fund!

That's happened here several times but by moose, those GD things have such long legs, if you hit one, you KNOW you're in trouble.

Only come close to hitting a deer once. I still do not know how I missed him.
