I dont see anything wrong with what she said, she wasn't being racist, she was just expressing a view on the use of that word.

I kind of agree with her.
Don't throw things at me! >.<
I don't like that one race can take a word and make it ok for them and insulting when anyone else says it.
Though personally I don't use that word anyway- it's just the point that makes my eye twitch.

But then she pulled a 180 -_- and cried and apologized...

I think it's a bit odd too, but I don't get all twisted up over it. Honestly, if you want to be on the safe side, just don't use the word at all.

Re: Dr Laura in Trouble.. Do Talk show host push to far ?

I listened to both clips in the article.. I had not seen anything wrong in the original message she had tried to put forward. She never denied using the word. She did use it in the context of trying to explain how it was used..

I think her biggest mistake was going on afterwards, probably feeling the target of the caller, and now attacking her, made her look bad.. I can only see that as her mistake.. I think her telling the caller she was over sensitive was fine but when she said the caller should never have entered into an inter-racial marriage she opened up a new can of worms..

Just my opinion..

Re: Dr Laura in Trouble.. Do Talk show host push to far ?

Dr. Laura is a fucking moron... but at the same time, she brings up a completely valid point. Blacks can use that word whenever the fuck they want to each other and it doesn't fucking matter. But a white person saying it is automatically a racist. A word should either be okay or not okay to say, not okay for some people and not okay for others. It's a fucking double standard, and everyone knows it... except most of the black community.

This reminds me of Bill Cosby's rant a while back...

They’re standing on the corner and they can’t speak English. I can’t even talk the way these people talk: Why you ain’t, Where you is, What he drive, Where he stay, Where he work, Who you be… And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it’s important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can’t be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth. In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we’ve got these knuckleheads walking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what? And they won’t spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn’t know that he had a pistol? And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward: Isn’t that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn’t that a sign of something? Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up? Isn’t it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from? We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don’t know a thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person’s problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back. People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different ‘husbands’ — or men or whatever you call them now. We have millionaire football players who cannot read. We have million-dollar basketball players who can’t write two paragraphs. We as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.

But most of them do blame white people... especially the hatemongers like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. It fucking disgusts me... they call whites racist for saying nigger or for not respecting their culture. White people can't do anything right in the world of those two and their ilk... they use the race card for everything and it's fucking disgusting.

If you're a broadcaster, use 'nigga' at your own peril is the moral here. However, it borders on childishness to have a discussion about the word without ever being able to actually say it.

This sentence got me though: If anybody without enough melanin says it, it's a horrible thing. But when black people say it, it's affectionate. It's very confusing.

It's not that confusing, it's called reapproriation. Innumerable ethnic groups have taken the slurs that their enemies labelled on them for their own - rendering them useless.
For example, the Commanche were originally called something completely different, and they were coined Commanche by their enemies, it translates to; "Those who attack us constantly."

She kind of pulled a Michael Richards by saying "the n word" six times instead of one or two. People who feel they are right about something and made a point shouldn't feel the need to apologize. These famous people have so much damn money anyways that I could care less. Mel Gibson, Don Imus, Michael Richards, Laura Shitsinger, etc. will never severely be punished no matter what they say or do because of their status.
