Mucinex works well, I guess. From other people's experiences, I've learned.

i hope you are quitting smoking for now...otherwise you will be sick for a month. The best thing I've found for clearing my chest congestion is using a vaporizor, and an expectorant (anything that says DM), that will loosen up the phlegm and help you clear it out. Keep a spittoon nearby also.
