i am probably going to regreat this but i have an honest question.

when is obama going to stop blaming bush for all the problems that this country is in and start doing something? i did not vote for him and will not in 2012. can you honestly say that EVERY problem is because of bush? so the democrats had nothing to do with the state that we are currently in?

Dems were only the majority in the Congress. The entire congress is in charge of the budget, so they can't be blamed for spending. Besides, Obama was nowhere near the White House while Bush was throwing money around like a madman. He was waaaaaay over in the Senate ... which is half of congress ... which is in charge of spending. sarcasm.gif

I do think that no matter whose fault it was, at some point in time you have to put on the big girl panties and do something about it.

It doesn't fucking matter what he does because he's gonna get criticized for whatever he tries to do regardless. Same goes with any president. Clinton got us almost completely out of debt but because he got his dick sucked his actions are nullified. Bush jr got the military families a better way of life for their service.. still now the country is broke and now obama is in office. Sure he had a voice in the senate, but who is listening to one guy, no one.
How about this, we stop blaming the president(s) and let them try to fix the problem first. Don't look at the mural half finished and say "this looks like shit, its all that blue, needs more red" and let the president do his thankless job in peace

I love when people try to blame every problem this country has ever had on Bush, lol a fucking hundred years from now when we're facing some new and futuristic problems people will still find some way to pin the blame for it on Bush.

I hope these new future problems include aliens, because our current problems are so boring! :D

I think posterity will be unkind to Bush. Even more unkind than it was to Carter or Nixon.

I don't get to vote in your elections, which seems unfair to me, but I agree with Dex. No matter what good your presidents do, no one seems to remember that unless they did absolutely nothing whatsoever wrong and were perfect, which is pretty much impossible.

Being a president that has wanted to be liked by the majority, but ever since the beginning has been looked down at, treated like shit, and told he won't prosper...it's kind of hard to go through a presidency and not try to make others realize that he isn't the one that cause all these problems.

So funny how people expect change today. It was said things were going to get worse before they got better....wait isn't that how it normally goes anyways?

Obama really is out of his league. He is great at reading a teleprompter but when it comes to leadership he is clueless. We tried telling you a community organizer with very little experience was going to be a disaster. We tried telling you he was an uber liberal. But because he spoke so eloquently people let style win over substance.

Blaming tends to be useless in general, but finding out why problems are occurring (in order to prevent them) is crucial (though not the goal of government apparently), and if it hurts to hear Bush set this economic meltdown in motion, I'm sorry.
Moving on from there, the main problem is the wave of ideologues not being willing to take their blinders off. Sine unnecessary spending took place in the first half of his presidency, which spooked the public and caused a mad rush towards conservative politics. Now unnecessary Draconian social control policies are trying to force their way through the second half and beyond. There's no winning.

I see a lot anger at people blaming Bush and subsequent pushing to blame Obama instead and that is a stupidity sandwich with futility filling :p

I agree, especially since it's Congress that does all the spending, and many if not most of the people there today were there for Bush as well ... and The Party and its culture have had a stranglehold there for generations. Presidents only do what they're told, even if they agree with it.

Because instead of acting in the spirit of "compromise", you know the way the Congress is supposed to work, the Republicans are of a single mind to stop Obama from enacting anything they disagree with, which is just about everything. And even the things they might normally agree with, they don't because they can't allow Obama to succeed in anything. This is an epic power struggle to control the country. The Republican party is more concerned about wielding power than helping the country. Sure if you ask them, they'd tell you they are helping by stopping Obama, but we can't afford 4 year periods of bullshit which is after 8 years of utter bullshit that I might add the voters of this country allowed to happen.

Great response. Directed at the conservatives in the peanut gallery, I'd like to know why you hate Bill Clinton so much? If you can't remember things were pretty good when he was running the country.

Because W was a FUCKING DISASTER that we are still paying for his ineptitudes, that's why.

Yup. Same thing on both sides. It great to watch the pundits on both sides point out how their side is offering up the exact same suggestions as "the enemy" had made previously, only to have "the enemy" cry out what a terrible catastrophic idea it is.
