have a good mannerism? my recent visit showed no compassion and just like a quick check in and out making me think about getting a new MD....

quick but I like quick
he doesn't BS me and he is comfortable with my obnoxiousness

Unfortunately, I think most doctors look at you as just a number. They have way too many patients, overbook their day and because of that have no time to spend with you. It's a quick check, then out. Occasionally, you do find one that takes the time to really listen to you. Hard to find though.

I fired 4 docs over the past year till I found one who figured out what was giving me the toe pain. So for now I will stick with her. Always have my part time old lady doc if it is not urgent. She does take the time needed to talk to you and will refer you to someone who can figure it out if she can't.

yes, it seems like bedside manor has been replaced with the ego. if doctors took their oath more seriously instead of for the mighty $.....

I have noticed some doctors have no manners because they just want to get their jobs done. Well, if you deal with 60 or more patients a day, that's still unacceptable. It doesn't mean the doctor can have the right to show whatever manner he or she has. It doesn't mean the doctor can give the patient the kind of look that means the same thing like "I don't want to see you again". I would think a good doctor should at least have a professional mannerism before he or she is scheduled to see the patient.
