Online chatting is effortless, but does it weaken our ability to read real emotions? Do you find yourself more comfortable expressing feelings online than face-to-face? Why do you think that is?

I do not think so, virtual friends can be as important or as caring as real life friend. It depends on what kind of person you meet and how often do you communicate. I have a lot of virtual friends who are empathetic towards me.

Online chatting can make it harder to read real emotions since we miss tone, body language, and expressions. I sometimes find it easier to express feelings online because it allows time to think before responding, but face-to-face talks feel more genuine and emotionally grounding.

The truth is that there are certain emotions that can't be captured in online conversations. When we have conversation offline, I am actively looking at mental cues to understand the depth of your emotions. That is lacking in online conversations making them lack much needed empathy.
