With borders becoming less relevant due to technology and migration, does national identity hold the same weight as before? Should people embrace a global identity, or is national pride still important? How much does your nationality shape your personal identity?

There are certain aspects that define nationalities that people are extremely proud of. That forms the basis why they might want to keep their national identity. I believe that national identity can co-exist with global identity.

National identity matters, it defines who you are. Sadly, being proud of who you are does not feed you, so a lot of people are giving up their nationalities and moving to other countries and taking nationality of new countries. Interestingly, despite being second, or even third generation in the adopted country, they continue to identify with their original nationality.
