Does member's avatars matter to you when you reply a thread?

Do you ever think that avatar reflect the personnality of people who are talking with on forum boards? I don't talk about gravatar picture; it is me for real!

Do you think people care about the picture they will use as avatar?

Some people may have their avatars reflect them. Others may not. My avatars are normally like the one I'm using now. Except for sites like Facebook that will use my real picture.

One thing I actually would prefer though is if users do upload an avatar to their profile. Even if its just a random image

That symbol is for Auburn University. My first experience on message boards was an Auburn University sports site. I have used AUFred as a name on multiple message boards ever since the mid-90's.

I think most people's avatars do kind of reflect a little bit about their personality, personally.

I made my avatar from scratch on photoshop. Well, it wasn't made specifically as an avatar, but it ended up that way.

Avatars give familiarity. But I don't respond just by looking at avatars. Some people like to use avatar that reflects their personality but I also believe most of the people use just random image.

I think sometimes people think you may look like your avatar. For example I currently have a character named Meredith from the game Cassette beasts as my avatar. But I'm not a woman, I'm a white 35 year old man lol. Avatars don't matter too much to me, I just think they're cool and add some character to the person posting but they won't off put me from posting.
