I'm going to start doing speed optimizations for the forum. Sadly, one of the first things is to remove Social share buttons such as facebook like and twitter tweet. Believe it or not, these buttons slow the site down considerably, sometimes by up to 200%.
My only issue with removing them though is the lack of viral spread :'(

Don't forget with the site ownership change so did the hosting. I may end up going to get a dedicated box for this site alone if it continues to be slow.

You could replace the social share buttons with icons and static share links, removing all of the crappy javascript that bogs down the site.
