Do you think that AI will "conquer" humans?

Many people have started fearing AI. They believe that there will come a time when AI will become so smart that it will "conquer" humans. AI will replicate itself and create a separate civilization! Do you believe in all of this stuff? Why or why not?

I don’t think AI will “conquer” humans. It’s a tool designed to assist us, not replace us. Of course, misuse or unchecked growth worries me, but with good ethics and control, AI can enhance our lives without taking over.
