Some couples argue more when they are under stress. Stress can really make a person impatient. Even a minor issue can be a big deal for them. Those couples who are under stress can argue instead of listening. Most of the time, they do it because they are feeling stressed or tired and not because of the actual issue. It is a great idea to take the time to pause for a tad while and show compassion. What can you say?

Based on my personal experience, couple argue more when their are under stress. It does not matter whether the cause is domestic or workplace, when we are stressed, we go into heated discussion. However, as long as you know when to back down, it will not cause any major issue

Yes, definitely. Stress lowers patience, reduces emotional bandwidth, and makes small issues feel bigger than they are. When people are tired, worried, or overwhelmed, they communicate less clearly and react more emotionally. Couples often argue more not because the relationship is worse, but because stress leaves less room for empathy and calm problem-solving.
