Your mobile phone, your smart phone and your notebook all come equipped with Bluetooth, but you hardly use it because there is not much to connect to. This maybe true in the past but there is an array of cool bluetooth devices like the headset, keyboard, mouse, speaker etc.
Many of you take snapshots with your cellphone but what do you do with them all? There are printers which can put them on paper without a cable in sight.
If you dread your monthly phone bill, Bluetooth internet phones can cut communication costs to the bone. The phone connects via Bluetooth to a notebook and routes calls over an inexpensive voice-over-IP (VoIP) service like Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk or Skype.
More and more countries are passing laws that forbid drivers to use handheld cell phones, but fiddling around with the buttons on a headset can be equally distracting. If you must talk and drive there is a better way by using a voice controlled speaker phone.
Got a bluetooth-less notebook? Fear not, there are many USB adaptors that can plug into your laptop and connect it with any of these bluetooth accessories.

I make ringtones on my computer and Bluetooth them to my phone. I don't have free texting so that's a good way to avoid the fees.

I use phones to phone people, IM, check stocks, check the weather, make appointments, do the dishes, drive my car, travel orbit...

My cellphone doesn't do shit, frankly, so I doubt it has bluetooth capabilities, but I did use a bluetooth GPS with my PDA when I had to go to a relative's house that was about 50 miles a way. That's about the only time I've used bluetooth (to my knowledge, anyway), unless you count my laptop's built in wireless internet-connector-thing, but I don't think that's bluetooth... maybe it is? I dunno, all I know is I just press the magic button and it connects to my house's wireless network and I don't have to mess with the settings.

Its a wireless protocol to exchange data over short distances from fixed to mobile devices. The range is 30 to 100 feet.
