I believe that social media plays a big role in the global popularity of different sports and teams. It is easy to watch and support your favorite sport and team by going to your preferred social media platforms. You can share content about the sports team you are supporting via Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. When people see them, they will click out of curiosity, and when they like it, there is a higher chance that they will become fans too. What do you think?

Yes, social media definitely contributes. It allows fans worldwide to follow games, highlights, and player updates in real time. Even people who can’t watch live matches feel connected, and viral clips or discussions help sports reach audiences they might not otherwise.

Social media helps but long before existence of social media sports were already popular and people turned out in hundreds of thousands to watch the sports. I think more than social media, traditional media, especially TV helped the popularity of sports.
