Even if I haven't seen the sports team I like in person, and even if they are from another country, I still get emotionally invested in them. It is a great feeling to be a part of a sports team that is unquestionably good and shares the same values as you do. For instance, I am still a big fan of the Chicago Bulls because they were the first NBA team that I loved. In addition, I recall watching their games with my late grandfather. Do you become emotionally invested in a particular sports team?

I don’t become emotionally invested in any sports team. I enjoy watching games for entertainment and skill, but I don’t tie my mood or identity to a team’s wins or losses. It keeps sports fun without added stress or disappointment.

I have a few favorite teams, when they win, I am happy and when they lose, I am sad, but beyond that I am never emotionally invested.
