Online reviews can make or break a book’s reputation. Do you rely on Goodreads, Amazon, or YouTube booktubers to decide what to read? Or do you prefer forming your own opinions without external influence? Have you ever skipped a book because of bad reviews but later enjoyed it?

To some extent book reviews influence my reading choices, however, I also take cue from thew popularity of the author, their previous works, genre, etc.

Book reviews influence my choices. When I see thoughtful reviews, especially those that mention strong characters or emotional depth, I’m more likely to pick up the book. A mix of reader opinions helps me decide if it’s worth my time.
