Divx Codec

I'm trying to find a decent divx codec so I can watch some shows on my wmp, but the coedecs i keep finding can't synch the audio with the video all that well. I'm using VLC player right now which I like but don't like it's scanning capabilities. So in my futile effort to improve microsoft junk, i was curious if you all had a good idea on a third party divx codec that works well.

Looks like you're stuck with VLC. Have you got the latest 0.8.5?

is there not a DivX plugin for quicktime? i downloaded what i think was one so that i could stop using VLC for some .avi's
