I think they need to air their older movies again. I'd much rather see Haylie Mills in The Parent Trap rather than Lindsey Lohan.

The reason they prefer the newer ones is because the actors/actresses in them are more recognisable to kids. Now what I will say is sure the older films may be better (Herbie certainly is) but like I said, the kids watching (they are the main capture audience after all) are more important to the producers.

I didn't think the remake of Freaky Friday was too bad (for a Disney film) I'm sure kids today could relate more to being in a rock band and not getting on with a stepfather than they could to playing hockey and their mum being Mrs Doormat USA 1976.

Some films do have adult jokes in them but probly more aimed at the parents when they take there kids to see it so they don't get bored....like shrek for example that was quite good and that had alot of jokes in that some children would or would not be able to understand...but then shrek is not a disney film so i'll shut up..:D

I like the originals better for the most part. But I do have to agree that there is a lot of adult humor in those movies. I remembered being shocked when I went back and rewatched movies I loved as a kid!

there was some purty good adult joking in Aladdin, (perhaps coz of Robin Williams)

I like the old school Dinsey cartoon movies

sick to death of the Disney Family channel that my kids watch, they keep re-cycling those teenie actors

gonna get em all fucked up fer sure

I thought the first Freaky Friday was a bore and my least favorite of Jody's childhood roles. The updated version was much better and I could relate more easily now, even being an adult.

I miss the old school Disney style where they blended some cartoons with real life...

Pete's Dragon
Bed Knobs & Broomsticks
The Incredible Mr. Limpet
Mary Poppins

I love Mr. Limpet! I had completely forgotten about that! And Mary Poppins has always been one of my favorites! I can't wait to raid my parents' box of old VHS tapes!
