Animated and live action movies and even cartoons aimed at children were darker toned in some aspects, it wouldn't be weird to see alcohol nonchalantly involved in a scene. (Example The Rescuers 1977, where the mouse was drinking moonshine...) Movies like Winnie the Pooh weren't affraid to talk about gluttony...
