At taxpayer expense. Now ain't this some shit from the party against universal health care?

According to the Associated Press, more than 70 percent of heart transplant recipients live at least five years, but the rate is lower for people over 65.

The AP also reports that according to the United Network for Organ Sharing, more than 2,300 heart transplants were performed last year, and that 332 people of them were for people over age 65. Last year, 330 people died while waiting for a transplant, and there are more than 3,100 Americans currently are on the national waiting list.

Wonder who died so this elitist rich motherfucker could live?

but see, when you put it like that you totally devalue the generous soul who donated their organs so another human could live, if even a little longer.

what i wouldn't have given for my dad to have been given a liver transplant and gotten to know my child.

now, I don't agree with tax payers funding it, shouldnt he have health insurance to cover it? that part is disgusting but the fact that he got a transplant at all probably hinges on the fact that he is powerful and got tossed to the front of the list while some average nobody will die soon because of it, that part sucks too.

We don't know that his medical care was paid for by the tax payer. He may have used his benefits package from his time as CEO of Halliburton, which gets most of its money from .... :blush oh, never mind.

That was not my intent HB. What I meant was who else might have been a better fit for that donor heart other than the 71 year old super-rich former vice president? Statistics show people over 65 don't survive as long as younger recipients.

Exactly.
