Gaming For A Good Cause is an event that shall take place over the March-April school holidays 2008. The aim of this event is to raise money for cancer research by playing the video game "Desert Bus" for hopefully 5 days straight. Desert Bus is essentially the most frustrating video game ever. It consists of driving across a desert at 45mph for 8 hours, with no scenery to breakup the dullness of the straight road, and then making the return trip. This earns one point. We aim to do this continually for 5 days without pausing the game once. Armed with a hopeful bunch of young men drivers , a yet to be found bus to house this event, a webcam and a seemingly endless supply of caffeine we hope to spend our precious time off from our VCE (Yr 12) doing what we love to help raise funds for this ever worthy cause. This idea was inspired by "Desert Bus for Hope" a worthy cause undertaken by some bravo souls in America and you can find they're website at desertbus.org
In the near future we will be setting up an account where you can send donations too if you like, but for the meantime it'd be really great if you just told your friends and everyone you know about the event and get them all behind this worthy cause!
But seriously we need your input and ideas for this! It's going to be an epic trip of mind boring proportions but it will be worth it! So please post your ideas, comments thoughts about this?
Our myspace for this is myspace.com/gamingforagoodcause. Please add it and show your support
We're serious and determined for this to go!
I'm new here, sorry if it's in the wrong section. Feel free to move. Thanks
