What is up with this?

The Death Tax is unfair.

Do you all not agree that it is wrong to tax property and earnings that have already been taxed before?

not necessarily. the death tax does "re-tax" income and profits, but since the income and profits change hands, it becomes income and profits all over again for the inheritant, thus requiring a tax. yes, the tax is unfair to small business owners and not so well off posterity of very well off posterity, but there are legal ways to deny and get around the death tax

The reason for the Death tax is so that the Rich folks cant leave their fortunes to there Chidren or Loved ones. if they did this the money becomes hidden from auditing. It's very unfair to the average American.

There is no such thing as a "deth tax". This a phrase drumed up by the damn repluplicans trying to get public support behind the removal of the estate tax. If you don't know what the estate tax is or how it works, let me tell you... It's a tax that affects less than 2% of americans, these are people with estates larger than $2 million ($4 million for a couple). Yet congress wants you, the average american to believe that this is one of the most important pieces of legislation in government right now. Boo fucking hoo if my daddy leaves my lazy worthless good for nothing ass $100,000 and I have to pay taxes on it. The republicans only want this repealed so they gain favor with the ubber rich for thier campain contrabutions.

Well, any "gifts" are taxable too. A lot of people like Bill Gates and the uber rich have a lot of say in the world, and Gates is going to have a hell of a time with his estate

Gifts are only taxable if over $12,000.00 per individual per year. If you give your kid $12,000.00 on Christmas, then you can give him another $12,000.00 for new years without having to pay a gift tax. That also goes for your spouse, so the little rug rat can get $24,000.00 a year tax free. And there is no limit to the number of people that you can give to.
