David Beckham coming to America

I just read that David Beckham just signed with the LA Galaxy soccer club. I really don't watch soccer, but maybe he'll finally be able to bring soccer into the American sports spotlight. Anybody else have thoughts on the topic?

5 years 250 million dollars thats probably more than everyone else in the league makes combined.

He wont get things going. Pele, the worlds greatest player ever went to America and not too long ago USA got to the World cup QF and hosted it. The level of support though is still pitiful.

Footie just isn't just a big deal in North America.

I mean, World Cup we had a bunch of people blowing horns and showing their support, but it just doesn't get the same reaction as in Europe.
