I haven't seen many interviews about it, but Darren's stated that he is practically begging Lionsgate and Peter Block to let him do a Leprechaun 7. Not a remake, an actual sequel(Surprising these days!).

I am not joking! I have seriously begged Lionsgate to let me direct the next Leprechaun movie... LEPRECHAUN IN THE OLD WEST!!! Seriously - think about - - The Lep in the Colorado gold rush! DO YOU HEAR ME PETE BLOCK! Let me do this!!!
It's also listed on Darren's Wikipedia page as him being the director of it, so maybe it's been confirmed? I loved the Leprechaun movies, and I think it'd be awesome to see Darren directing a new one!
