I have tried to capture the progression from chick to fledglings in previous years and it hasn't worked for one reason or another but I decided to give it another whirl after I found this nest a week ago. The chicks had just hatched then and so tiny I couldn't get 'em with my camera. They aren't a lot bigger today and you can barely make them out in this shot but that's what progression is all about.

If you look real close you can see some fuzz and the outline of a beak. I believe there are 4 in there.

This is what they will look like if they make it..... ( it's one of my fav bird pics btw )

just how small are those chicks?

Very small. Size wise it's hard to tell but I would venture a guess they aren't more than 1" long if that.

I thought this thread was going to be about girls addicted to heroin

Nope....

The second picture is very nice, Guy.

Thanks D

That second shot is fantastic. It's one of the best if not the best bird shots I think you've taken.

Thanks Siphy... like I said it's one of my favorites and I have it hanging on the wall. It's sharp as a tack in real life and unfortunately resizing it doesn't help. I have better shots in my vault but that one gets me every time I look at it. I've never been in a concentration camp but that's what I imagine when I see the shot. Weird eh......
