Today I’ve got to rant about the murder law in Utah. I guess Mark Hacking knew where he should move to commit murder. You guys remember this story don’t you? The freak that lied to his family about being in medical school….lied about having a job…his whole life was a lie! Then killed his wife….and then went to the store across the street for some cigarettes just as casually as any other day…that he lied about smoking!!!
Mark Hacking got a measly 6 years to life. Not 15 to life….not 30 to life….a measly 6 years. If he is a perfect model of a criminal he could get out in less than 6. Most likely he wont be released on his first parole….but just the possibility is unreasonable! That was the most sentence by Utah law that he could receive. They need the death penalty!!!
I don’t care that he’s crazy….I’m tired of the insanity plea. Think about it…if you murder someone the chances are that you are probably just even a little crazy….DUH! And there’s no temporary….if you did it once, you can do it again. I do understand there are instances that may bring the worst out in people…heck, who knows what I’d do if I walk in on an adulterous act committed by my husband. I just might commit murder….LoL!! But if I became insane temporarily…just for that instant…then I would still deserve LIFE in jail…or the chair!!! And if I became insane…only at that instant….I’d probably become insane again if the same instant ever occurred. Temporary insanity needs to be re-written! It should not exist.
What do you think??? Is he too crazy to know what he did?? Does he deserve a second chance??? The bad thing is that the judge wanted to max his sentence out….and she did. That was the most that she could give to him for committing murder!!!
Maybe Michael should’ve moved Neverland to Utah!
