CVS Caremark, one of the largest pharmacy chains in the US, will stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products, its chief executive has said.
The announcement drew swift praise from President Barack Obama, who said the move would save lives.

I applaud the move to not sell , it their choice and i think it is inline with their business model BUT for Obama to say that it will save lives is naive - he is being foolish

With a 2bn loss per year in tobacco sales...prices on remaining products will increase to make up the loss.
Additionally prices will go up on tobacco in some areas due to reduced competition.
Ole Obama just wants to make a statement to be heard..I suspect he has posters of himself in all over the place...he is undoubtedly his own biggest fan.

I think it's a smart decision considering they are a health care provider feeling tobacco products in a pharmacy is a bit of an oxymoron
