Dating across cultures can be beautiful and challenging. Have you been in a relationship where different backgrounds caused misunderstandings, or taught you something new about empathy and respect?

My cousin has married a Japanese. They have been married for over 15 years and when ever we meet I ask him his about how he gets along with someone from different culture so nicely. He says if you are willing to appreciate and adapt to each other cultures, you will be fine.

I haven’t been in such a relationship myself, but I can see how cultural differences could lead to both misunderstandings and growth. Dating across cultures probably teaches patience, empathy, and open-mindedness, it pushes you to see beyond habits or norms and appreciate another person’s worldview more deeply.

I have had a relationship with someone from a different culture from mine. I believe approaching such a relationship with a open mind is the best way. With that, you would get to blend the best parts of each culture and let go of the not too good parts. I learned so much values from the culture of the guy from a completely different culture that I had a relationship with.

Being open is very good in relationship, and even so in a relationship with different cultures, and even countries. The most important thing is being respectful about each other cultures.
