yeah you can connect 2 computers with a crossover, but why bother? you can get a router for next to nothing these days and then at least have the capabilty to connect more computers, wireless shizz if you want, and a shared broadband connection.....

im the only one going to be using the other machine, and 3 machines running, especially when you dont pay the elec bill is a no-no :tard

basically, my main comp, the daily driver if you will, is hooked up to the net. thats the only one i want hooked up to the net. the net is good for it :D

now the one im doing the crossover cable to is a development machine of an operating system and such that follows operating system development. it doesnt need a connection online yet.

plus, i dont want a router yet. and my mom wont let me :dunno

though, it would help with xbox live, when i get it :banana

and i really dont care for wireless. i dont know why but i just dont like it. :dunno
