A lot of calls get put in for fireworks by older people. They actually think that it is gun fire. Then, there are even more calls that come in from the flashing of the fireworks. People think they are flashlights shining around in their house. Also, the relaly loud ones can set iff car alarms, which prompt even more calls.

Oh, I know this cause my Dad was a cop for 27 years.
