I've heard that cows can even eat small animals like rabbits or chickens sometimes. It has something to do with protein deficiency. This behavior is probably related.

Hmmm.. Cannibalism is illegal, and you helped execute the crime. That makes you an accomplice.. A police car is now speeding towards you :D

The fodder they feed to cattle sometimes contain bone meal from the same species of animal they're feeding.

yeah my tortoise eats his own poo sometimes...i heard it's for probiotics or something...

It's not very rare. It's actually really bad, like with goats and stuff, if I had a 'self-sucker' I'd get rid of her. They ruin their own udders, drink the milk so you can't milk them, and are impossible to dry up. Even more annoying is a doe that drinks milk from other does (female goats).
