Do you think it'd make a difference on another TV? Some games load and others don't. Sometimes when i power up the Genesis it goes black and sometimes it doesn't.

Time to emulate my friend, sounds like the cartridges or the console is dying. .I've noticed that older consoles look like crap on high def tv's, I'd stick to the sd tv's for the old consoles anyways.

I just bought this fucking thing. i did buy used but I expect it to work. I plugged it into my living room television and it seems to be working. Computer Emulators/ROM suck ass IMO...

patience Dana, call the 800 number on the back of the box and complain...they are sure to send you out a new console....that is if you get hold of them...

emulators do suck, but sometimes it's better then having to hunt down the original cartridges. Some of the rare ones can go for alot of cash. Look into replacing the 16pin or whatever it's called inside the genesis, I did that with my old Nes. It was simple and after cleaning all my games with rubbing alcohol it loads every time the first time.

Those old consoles are made to last forever, chances are that's all that needs replacing.

There's just absolutely no chance in hell that the TV you have it plugged into could effect the load process.

Agreed.

There could be unsupported formats going on I suppose. I have no knowledge about the genesis though so I have no idea if that's even possible.

best answer is trash the sega
get an xbox
you will love life again
If you want to play old style arcade games
they are available via Xbox Live
plenty of them

Dana, you seriously complain more than my ex-wife... and that's saying something.
I'm not complaining, I'm asking a fucking question. darkcgi... why would i trash something i just bought? that doesn't make fucking sense. And if i did buy a newer system itd be a PS2 or PS3.

sounds like the games or the console. im guessing games. nintendo was awful about this, way worse than sega ever was IMO. i have heard to blow out the inside of the game, i'm gonna suggest with canned air and not from your mouth. dust and dirt can be a problem. always store games properly.

i have a sega and i never have this problem. in fact this is the first time ive heard of this. and i doubt its the TV.
