Cooking Mistakes I’ve Learned

I’ve burned rice more times than I can count. Now I set a timer!
What’s one common kitchen mistake you used to make and how did you fix it?

I make soggy rice more than I burn it. I am not very good at determining the right amount of water in the rice. I frequently make mistakes. This morning I was cooking bread and the breads were not cooked properly.
