convert quicktime to avi or other?

So i took a very short vidoe with my cam yesterday and have now discovered its a quicktime format seems canon likes bigger files.... ANYWAY, i wanted to share it with you guys but the file is obviously to big to upload... so i routed around and thought i had found a good video converter called bink BUT its not free...does anyone know of or uses a good free video file converter that will convert quicktime to avi or wmp or some other smaller file?...and then i'll convert the file and upload it so you all can see.:nod::thumbup
