I have a Dell, and apparently it has Windows XP and Windows 2000(It asks me to choose which one to use when I start up). I always choose XP, because that what I have installed or whatever. Well, a while back, I went to make a second account on here, and it worked fine, so I shut the computer off. Well, the next day, that person that I made the account for logged on, and somehow, my account(The main account, Administrator) is gone. It's not deleted, because I'm still able to use Run and search to find my files and shit, but I just can't find out how to get my account to show up at the main account page(Where you click which one you wanna use) anymore. Any ideas to help me out?

1. on the xp install, do you see the account if you go to the control panel, and open "user accounts"?

2. how about after you right click "my computer", choose properties, then "advanced" tab, and click on settings under "user profiles"?

at worse you could try the system restore feature, start>programs>assesories>system tools>system restore... then follow the prompt to restore to a previous time, then just roll it back to before you hosed it

Nevermind, got it! The Administrator account disappears if you make more than one account. To log in on it, I have to do CTRL+ALT+Delete twice at the log-in screen.

Thanks anyways :D

it seems like u solved ur own problem, but i would suggest creating an account for urself with administrator priviledges and keep the adminsitrator untouched
