So, my company is doing a logo contest at our Christmas party on Friday, though isnce it has to be corporately approved it isn't guaranteed that the winning entry will be our new logo. But anyway, since there is a cash prize involved, I figured I'd throw a little effort into it.






I realize that I'm not a graphic artist or anything... and it probably shows that I spent 20 minutes on it. But I just wanted to go with something clean looking and professional. Oh, and the font is free use and okay for corporate usage.

what is the main line of business for this company?
are those the company approved colors? most companies have a color palette
You should check with your marketing department to see what is and isnt allowed...

I did a letter head for the place i work for... mainly for internal documentation and i had to abide by a bunch of rules that didnt quite leave much room for creativity.

most company logos are limited by a simple color palette and rules about images surrounding the text, colors, and other options like having the option to go with a monochromatic scheme...

if you want to win and then have a real shot at having it be approved by leadership, i would check with the current requirements for font, color, etc... that way there is not time wasted and you can have a legitimate shot at getting your work approved.

as for the stuff you put up... i like it but at times i tend to let things be too simple :\

Those are the exact colors from our existing logo That being said, there's no stringent need to keep to them, I just happen to like the existing color scheme. This is part of an attempt to somewhat re-brand the company as we start to offer additional services to customers. Our parent company has a marketing department, but we're largely independent as far as stuff like that goes as well. In-house, I do a most of our internal graphics work, and redesigned the website (also on that same color scheme). But, I'm actually more concerned about winning whatever cash prize there is for it. :24: If it goes further than that, well sweet.

I'm also a fan of simplistic designs... obviously. Oh, and we provide data processing and reports for our clients. So there's not really any specific symbol or theme that could really go with what we do... at least not easily.
