Cleaning the roof....

was debating on doing this myself or hiring my brother to help me out. We have a lot of icicles and snow on the roof and am not afraid of the roof collapsing but the wife voiced some concern. The house is twenty years old and am thinking it should be sturdy...but then again...all that snow weighs something and it wouldn't hurt to get some of it off...

so you dont value your brothers legs as much as you do your own?

what we do is get a long flex pole the kind used by chimney sweeps and screw on broom head, then start by working from top floor bedroom windows, to push snow onto driveway, make sure nobody is on driveway looking up

I've been knocking the icicles off the roof all along, some of those suckers are HUGE. As far as our roof, my house is considerably older, but we keep getting snow, followed by rain and then just stays cold.
