I was listening to the radio the other night, a very good classic rock station around here as a matter of fact. Call me crazy but when i think of classic rock i think of bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Queen, Skynyrd and others. Right after a really classic rock song (Freebird) they play Pearl Jam's "Better Man". about an hour later they played "Even Flow" by the same band Whats up with that?? With cars it takes 25 years for them to be considered a classic, shouldnt the same apply to music??? help me out here people

Hahaha, sure.

This has nothing to do with radio, really, but I almost got attacked for saying I liked the Scissor Sisters version of "Comfortably Numb" better than Pink Floyd's.

That would be classic rock 101.5fm. The only station that really rocks.

I got a better one...

So my friend is talking to this emo kid, and the emo kid says "hey have you heard My Chemical Romance?" And my friend (who is a big classic rock guy) says "I've heard of them but I don't want to hear them." And this stupid kid replies with "oh you'll like them, they're CLASSIC ROCK."

WTF???

People who can't categorize music shouldn't be allowed to talk about it. When me and a bunch of my friends were hanging out, this kid walked up and started telling us about how he liked My Chamical Romance and how they were one of the best Metal bands ever. I told him he was fucking stupid, because MCR is a shitty emo band. Honestly, I hope he never says another word to me.

I seriously hope the emo trend dies down soon, because I cant stand all this hot topic bullshit. Thrice, Taking back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance are all terrible bands, yet they get far more airplay and awards than other bands that feature decent musicians.

I would really like to see metal come back at some point, because the current state of music is getting pretty old and boring.

I was listening to the radio for like, the first time since I've been here the other day. I guess it was a top 40 show or something. This song by My Chemical Romance comes on and the DJ was saying that it was number 1 back in the States or something like that. The song SUCKED!! It was horrible!

I sort of have a beef with that.

Just because music isn't metal, doesn't mean it's bad.

Now, I agree with you that those emo bands are shitty, and I really hope that trend dies out soon, because fucking emo singers have the most annoying voices ever.

But I don't agree that "the current state of music" is getting old and boring. Maybe mainstream music, sure. But there is a lot of music that is brilliant and amazing, but it doesn't get airplay.

There is a lot of good music coming out. And admittedly, I don't like metal. But just because everything else is Not Metal does not mean that it sucks.

Don't get me started om emo. I don't get it, they express their individuality by all dressing the same and moaning about how shit their lives are because they have everything they want paid for by their parents. They haven't even got their own music, they just adopt goth bands and say their emo! Grrr!!!:mad
