I bet no matter who is elected nothing will really change.

I feel similarly. The Congress is too evenly divided, and that governing body has suddenly started treating the Chief Executive like he doesn't matter.

I'm torn on the best way to get things done. One side of me wants to see a strong arm Regan type in there to smack them into shape, but the other side of me wants a wishy washy healer that will bring some semblance of unison back to the government.

That's why I'm stuck between McCain and Thompson.

Well, old Fred doesn't really stand a chance in hell of getting elected, and the Neo-Cons have to be frightened to death by him.

McCain is the guy I have wanted to get the nod since 2000. I have always deemed him one of the last boy scouts on the hill.

I can't help but like the guy too. I heard him say the other day that he has never once placed an earmark on a Bill. That impresses me. It's got to be hard to turn down easy money for all those years. I think he's definitely one of the few good guys left in government.

Yeah, his record in Senate reall dictates that he steers clear of an awful lot of special interest garbage, I am certain, at least I hope it's because of the fine line between support.....and support if you get my drift.

The one thing I have always seen from him is a willingness to speak his mind *ahem albeit except immigration* and normally sticks by his guns when he votes on something or opposes it.

His track record speaks a lot louder than his campaign.

I've said it a hundred times this year. If he hadn't been such a big backer of the Amnesty Bill, he would have my vote locked up.

I know....Each time he has run, he has gotten tied up in something that has drowned him. He really needs to just come on out and say it.

BUT that is the inner battle when you are really an Independent, those issues are not as black and white.

It's an issue I really think he struggled with internally. If anything I applaud him for not being too dogmatic about it.

I would love to see more independents with a chance in government. Too many people are yellow dog voters though. If he were to give up his Red Republican badge, he would lose fully 60% of his voters. That split in the "Red" vote gives a free pass to the "Blue" voters.

George Washington saw this coming and did everything he could to stop it, but alas... here we are anyway. :(

Scary the kind of insight they had;)

I have always thought about what an election would be like with a true third party?

And not Nader for Christs sake

I agree with you, at least here we have a third party that we can use for tactical votes. Even so, all three parties are morons!:(
