Can some one explain to me what this is?

I used to be in politics, but after the war started I tried my hardest to not know anything.

Mission accomplished, but now I am interested!!

I tried looking it up, but all I can find is partisan bull shit.

Well, I got this from their webpage

About Citizens United

Citizens United is an organization dedicated to restoring our government to citizens' control. Through a combination of education, advocacy, and grass roots organization, Citizens United seeks to reassert the traditional American values of limited government, freedom of enterprise, strong families, and national sovereignty and security. Citizens United's goal is to restore the founding fathers' vision of a free nation, guided by the honesty, common sense, and good will of its citizens.

And so Retro and Acc, if such a group came up with a solution you disagree with, like taxes above where you think they should be what then? Go find another group who thinks like you, of course. Is it a matter of all citizens uniting will fix all of our problems or only citizens who think the same? And when is that ever going to happen?

You guys think limited government is the answer as in it's going to make our daily lives so wonderful. The question is always how limited? I look back on the national work environment in the 1800s and am thankful we have a proactive government. Limited government brought us the great depression and then the "new deal". Why do you think there was a feeling that a new deal was needed? It's because when you have a unregulated economy, the advantage will slide to a few, who tend to become the greedy and destructive few (it's human nature), and the majority will loose out. This is contrary to the reason societies are formed which is for the collective good.

Bottom line, we need moderation, not extremes in either direction. :cool

Limited government is moderation. You need to re-read your history. proactive government had nothing to do with changing the national work environment. The politicians then, as now, were perfectly content to let their biggest campaign contributors to do whatever they wanted to. It wasn't until the people revolted (formed unions and protested) that things changed. And since when does the New Deal fall under the category of limited government??

Insuring small depositors and separating personal and commercial banks were good things that came out of the Big Government takeover, but the cost is proving to be too high.
