Some movies should stay classic. I switched over to check it out... They totally fucked this movie up. Toothpaste factory? A Mr. Bucket? There was never a boy who hated chocolate... Is it true the director never even watched the original before making this remake?

Are we talking the one with Johnny Depp? I actually thought it was one of the few re-makes that was better that the original!

The new movie was more along the lines of the story by Roald Dahl but the old one was better set out..

I prefer the music in the old version and everyone remembers it..

I like the new version to, I find it to be really well done but not as well created as the old..

I like both and wouldn't be able to pick a favourite from the two..

Yeah, I like that the new one is closer to the book. Johnny Depp also gives it that darker edge which Roald Dahl's books were like.

I prefer the new one...Johnny Depp gives much more than Gene Wilder did. And I agree that Johnny Depp's Mr. Wonka was a little darker, which was how he was portrayed in the book. I loved the new movie. :)
