Changing Nothing

A fleeting thought
happiness crossed through
gone in the blink
nothing to hold onto

blood drips slowly
over scars long healed
changing nothing
emptiness only prevails

a soul seeks release
chained to suffering
pain bleeds its heartbeat
crying with the rhythm
sang in its ear, darkness
Shadows of loss,
eyes closing to see
a new light,
bearing the same dream

blood drips slowly
deeper my thoughts go
changing nothing
blackness slips through

desire to move beyond
only my heart knows
this walk is around
same shadows passing through
time moves forward
my mind unable to go
frozen to moment
a promise of forever

blood drips slowly
old scars become new
changing nothing
my eyes are closed to you.
