Does anyone around here give a crap about any of this nonsense that's none of our business?

I guess it's being reported that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey spoke through their publicists that they're hitting the splits...

They actually had to make an official announcement about something that nobody but they and their family should care about...

QUESTION: Do you pay ANY attention beyond just happening to hear or read about celebrity news and other gossip? Furthermore, do you really care who's bangin' who and who J'lo's next hubby will be? (among other garbage topics that the media deem more important).

I think that this crap and the magazines that cover it are hilarious! It's hard to believe that there's a shred of journalistic intergrity to them, and what's even better is watching all the gossip hounds in my office rifle through each issue like there some great Spiritual Truth to what's in the mags.

Who cares if Jessica Simpson is divorcing Nick Lachey? All that means is, in some far of fantasy world, I now have a change to hit that!

--Yeah, I'd hit Jessica. As long as she didn't try and hold a conversation.

I actually make fun of my sister in law for reading People and watching entertainment tonight all the time.

It isn't any of my business, and I don't know why people give two shits. Is it because they're in movies? or sing? or is it because they have lots of money?

Whatever it is, I can't believe how much money is spent on People magazines and stupid useless shit.

you can't tell me that you're not involved in other peoples lives...your friends for example...you don't listen to the gossip that's happening around them? it's just for our entertainment....i do the same thing with my friends.

Friends and people I know is one thing. Famous/rich people I don't know and will never know is another.

But, on the same token I've never gotten into any "gossip" between my friends or not. Gossip is worthless.

Gossip may be worthless, but knowledge is power and not all gossip is false.

haha ok... if you say so. Gossip is usually full of bullshit rumors and trash talking.

no one is perfect. everyone gossips or talks about someone...even if you don't admit it.

See. This is where you're wrong.

I don't get into this "did you hear what so and so did with his girlfriend?" and all the childish crap.

Word of mouth is a dangerous thing, especially with Gossip. Things get changed around and other parts get left out. Suddenly you have an untrue rumor.

When I talk to my friends we BS, but we don't gossip behind each others back. We tell each other things that happened to our friends. For example, My friend greg didn't know Matt broke up with his girlfriend. That's more like news than Gossip.

I don't gossip. Period.

So is there a difference between the two?

gossip -
Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature

news -
Information about recent events or happenings, especially as reported by newspapers, periodicals, radio, or television.

It's different because it's news to him. It's something that he wasn't around at the time everyone else was told.

I'm not gossiping about their relationship, or shit they did while they were together. I told him that they broke up.
