In its current form it will never pass in the Senate

Now is when the sickening part starts as everybody gets goodies in exchange for their vote.

Supposedly where I live we got the GM Orion plant to stay open or re open in exchange for our representative Peters to vote for this garbage

The chicken shits don't have the guts to call it a tax. Intead Pelosi says it is all about the jobs.

If you notice the idiot liberals have not questioned the costs for this shit. They ignore that and just keep repeating the mantra of job, jobs, jobs. What a load of bull shit. This is going to move jobs out of the country. All for a possible reduction in temps 2/100th of a degree

Somebody please explain how our uninlaterally doing this is going to do a damn thing other then be symbolic. Instead of maintaining jobs we will be chasing them out of the country to other places that are not as pollution conscious. But lets not have the facts get in the way of a good liberal spin

That's a well supported argument :smiley24:

If I have to explain it to you, it's just a warning not an argument.

A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man;
a debt he proposes to pay off with your money.
G Gordon Liddy

So Liddy is your hero? Completely illuminate as it's hard for conservatives to be bothered about their fellow man when it's all about "me"...

The rich white conservative is completely correct on this issue. I commend him for his well written article.

Actually, he isn't. Specifically the last four paragraphs.

If you look at this man's links to conservative think-tanks and lobby groups. It's hard to take anything he says as objective truth.

Conservative scepticism about climate change is just an excuse for them to allow big business to continue to rape our planet for natural resources.

So Liddy is your hero? Completely illuminate as it's hard for conservatives to be bothered about their fellow man when it's all about "me"...

What isn't there to like about Gordon Liddy?... Apart from his role in the watergate burglary, and the whole inciting-violence-against-law-enforcement-officials thing.

Gordon Liddy said:
Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests." ... "They've got a big target on there, ATF. Don't shoot at that, because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots.... Kill the sons of bitches.

I watched the debates on CSPAN. First time I've ever done such a thing. It was fascinating. That rat-face guy (I forget the name) was making deals right on the floor of the House. Even promised to leave an item open to be filled after the vote. The republican guy (Missed his name too) was gobsmacked & called it unprecedented.

The dems were saying the repubs were against new energy. The repubs said time and time again they were against cap & trade, and pointed out that nuclear power was a viable alternative completely left out of the bill.

At the end, the New York rep that talks like a mafioso said 'once again the other side brings nothing of substance, only complaints.' It was a truly disgusting display that made it crystal clear that the dems didn't give a tinker's damn about what was in the bill; they just wanted it passed.

I doubt half of them know whats in it. Whats it like 1200 pages?
Ya know, I wanna get into Congress just so I can actually read this stuff and call them out on their BS on the floor.

"Hey you, yeah, you. On page 847 you say we have to pay for your new hot tub. Fuck you."

They added 300 at 3am the morning of the vote. Aides were inserting the new pages and pulling the amended parts while the debates were going on. They argued about THAT for a frickin hour!
