Ok, I took some pics - one of which was my tree, to post like others have.

I transferred from camera to my Olympus Master thingy on computer.

I browsed them once I finally found them in browse.

Now I cannot, for the life of me work out how to search for them other than what I have already done.

According to my searcher on here, it said none found in any of my different places on here.

So, not even the flippin' computer can find anything, so it's about as blinking technical as me. LOL.

Joking aside though, it is really frustrating me - I did it before, found my pics (with someone helping me though), then getting them put into 'My Pics'.

I just cannot remember how to do it anymore and have tried loads of times in the last week to do it.

Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Well, I found out they are or were (til I started messing around with things) in my c something or other settings?

Anyway, don't know how to get there, but pics I had in 'My Pics', are not there now, since I started trying things out to find my pics I transferred from my camera. :(

I give up! No pics again from me, it looks like.

:24: Oi you, I wasn't laughing through this last week, I can tell ya - I even, very almost had built up to post (well for my avatar anyway), a pic of me, but where that ended up I can't get to now, as it says something about my adobe isn't installed or something and it flipping well was before. However, it should have been in 'My Pics', so I have even less of an idea than ever now. I have messed all kinds of things up on my computer and it has done my head in!!! :mad :(

On the positive side though - it is funny I suppose, cos I always mess things up like this, so no point crying over it!!! ;)

The pics would hardly be in "settings". Settings are application/program preferences. "c"....." probably indicates "c" drive which is a location on your computer.

I'm Mac oriented so I'm afraid not au courant with the Windows PC side of things. Hopefully one of the many PC users on here would be able to assist you better.

Awwww, thanks anyway my dearest - you know what I am like, absolutely useless with those things. Do you know? I think I am the only person here who hasn't a clue how to find their own blimming pics!!! :(
You have tried helping me before and that's been very patient of you, I have to say. :)

Oh well, we shall see.

I need to have a slooooooooooooooow, small, step by step conversation about this. I am just not clever enough for tech stuff.

Hummmmm, think I will just sit an exam for the fun of it - will get a much better grade than I do here. :D

I am probably beyond helping on here with the pics thingy.

Nevermind, I'll just have to post for now.

I shouldn't even worry trying to help me out anyone - I probably won't get it - think I am too old to try now anyway!!! :D

Heres another idea, take some more random pictures, hook it back up to your computer. When it asks you where you want to save it, look at the address line. it should be something like C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Pictures (whatever it may say).

Copy and paste that link, then press your start button, click on "run" then paste that command into the box and press OK.

It should take you exactly where the camera uploads the pictures to your computer at.

Click on start, then click on my computer, you should see your drives.
Click on the one that says Local Disk (C:
Now you're in your C drive, there should be a folder there called "My Documents" Click on that, then there should be another folder there called "My Pictures" click on that one and your photos should be in there.

That being said, some digital cameras do not follow the defaults, They set up their own folders on your C drive and all the photos you upload from your camera go into those folders, so if you do not see your pics under the "My pictures" file then look for a folder named the same as or similar to your camera, EX: Olympus Master Photo Pro or some such.... Click on that folder and then have a browse through and see if you have another folder in there with your pics.

If all else fails, Hook up your camera to your PC again and load the photos again, Take note of where it is saving them, write down the whole path,
Ex: C:\Admin\My Documents\Mypictures
The see if you can find them that way...
If that fails you too!!! EEEP! But don't despair yet, you can still find them by doing this, Again, hook up your camera and upload the pictures, this time write down the name of a couple of your pictures exactly as the camera has them named, EX: 100894r322.jpg, Then do a search on that name making sure you type it in exactly the way the camera had it named including the extension, which is the
._ _ _ part, usually .jpg or .gif It should show you where they are located on your computer.

Good luck.

first step:

-press and hold the windows key.
-press the 'r' key.
-release both keys.

a window opens up; the run dialog window.

the cursor - blinking thing - will be in the combo box. delete anything, by pressing the backspace key as necessary, and type "command" without the quotation marks.

the run dialog window will close, and a new window will open: the command processor window.

in this window, the cursor is blinking, letting you know it is waiting for a command.

-type "ver" without quotation marks.

memorize the string that pops up, your choice whether to mention the version number in the brackets:

when i follow the above actions, the ver command outputs

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

your output should be similar

Awww, thank you all.

I had tried 'my pictures' but they didn't go there

I tried 'my documents' but my recent ones didn't go there

So, I gueess I will, when I feel alert and brave enough, tackle the option with the windows and 'r' button etc and see if I manage it then.

Then the other option if that fails - what Crusty and someone else said, transfer my photo's again from camera and write down the path thingy.

That's partly what gets me, is that I don't know what half the things mean and why things would go there in the first place.

I haven't had much sleep to say the least for a number of days now, so I will wait until I feel more alert.

Thanks guys, you are all a big help and so patient with me on these technical things. :) *hugs* ;)
