Canada, 2010 (lots of pics warning)

Yeah, I'm a wee bit slow sometimes with sorting things out

This heron was persistent, despite the lack of fish after it gobbled them all up rather quickly. The barrel had protection in the form of a mild electric shock but this didn't deter the heron.




It was mighty cold up there, especially with the wind chill. To think I wasn't going to wear a jacket. The first of a few Saskatoon pics whilst visiting some freak.














By the time we got to here, I was glad of the chance to defrost a little.


I liked the look of this random house.


There was more than one person seen out doing this in ~ -20c weather.


Out in the wastelands.

At the zoo, a barn cat braves the cold.






Zirc pointed out the magpie.


So far removed from his natural habitat.


A friend saying goodbye as off they go to feed or something.

I took a shot from the other side of Bree which came out better as far as light but I preferred this shot.

Had never been to a game before. Getting in was chaos (well to me). I'd hate to think what it would be like for a proper game.

You have to be in the right place at the right time - there's no telling which side of the ferry these things fly. Random buggers spoiling my shot attempts!










I seem to capture their backs quite a bit... these were all near a civic amenity site.

Of the zoo shots I really like the doggy one because it doesn't have a fence showing. Stupid fences!

You commented on the person walking the dog in the cold. Where you were winter lasts about 6 months so you have to be able to adapt as I'm sure you now know. :24: If a person is afraid of a little chill they would never leave the house. B.C. is much better than S'toon isn't it?

Wrong league. The hockey here is junior hockey. The Heat are an AHL team, which is minor pro. I like your taste, though. The Heat are affiliated with the Flames. :thumbup

The birds require a lot of patience for sure - there was one I took just as the bird flew off the branch so I just got sky and twigs whilst trying to take it taking off

I don't like fences either... the first one is probably about the easiest on the eyes I guess along with the lion 'un. Agreed on BC - far warmer to be sure!
