Hey dude in Colorado who wants your taxes raised...Whip out your checkbook and write a check. The federal government will take as much as YOU are willing to give. I pay more than enough thank you very much.:clap

Do you even know the story behind this guy and who he was speaking for? He definitely wasn't talking about your tax bracket... add a few more zero's and you might be close

Regardless the guy can write as big of a check as he likes to Uncle Sam. That was my point.

His point was that he became a millionaire because of taxes paid by others, allowing him to go to school with money from pellgrants and allowing him to utilize the public school system, etc.

Now that he's retired with millions in the bank, he's only paying 15% in taxes. He understands that he wouldn't be where he is today with people before him paying taxes.

So unless you are a multimillionaire only paying 15% in federal taxes, he wasn't talking about raising your taxes.

You and I seem to always look at things differently. I would feel differently about the taxes I pay if there was more accountability for how money is wasted by the government at all levels. If he feels he is so blessed and wants to giive back then he should give until he feels better.

Indeed the government is known to waste money, but I do find it quite interesting how society forgets about the massive taxpayer bailouts of Wall Street and how they paid themselves billions in bonuses - yet so many people shout loudly about government as if private industry were saints always looking out for the good of mankind.
