I see parents mostly father's disowned their children and I become sad. I wonder what could be the crime of such a child that can't be forgiven by such a parent. Can you disown your own child?

I am not married but yes I have seen this in movies, and real life and read about that in the newspaper because there are times when the child is not under their control so they disown them when they feel they cannot make them disciplined

Yeah it is for real some parents actually do this and I think it is a very safe thing to happen to anyone

Yes, many parents do not want to admit their own children for several reasons, usually because they only want boys or girls, so they like to throw away children who don't like them. Because children are born from pregnancies that occur outside of marriage. Because the child was born with defects, etc. Those are some of the reasons parents don't want to acknowledge their own child.

I would never do that unless it was something warranted. But my youngest disowned me when the wife walked out on me. The ex claimed she never poisoned my daughters mind but I will never believe it. In the 11 years since the divorce I have seen her maybe 3 times. Last was at my brother in laws wake about 3 years ago. Never a card or phone call on christmas or birthday in the last 11 years. The shrink said a divorce is like a death and it is and can be more than just the ex that died

No matter what my child does, I can never disown him or her. I understand why some fathers disown their children. Some children bring public shame and humiliated themselves repeatedly to their parents. But I won't disown mine.

I don't think I would ever disown my child no matter what he does. He will always be my son and I will always be there for him. if he goes rogue, I will try to bring him on track.

Disowning is extreme and painful. I believe it’s rare but can happen if the relationship is deeply toxic or harmful. I think setting boundaries is better than cutting off completely, but sometimes distance becomes necessary for self-preservation.

I don't know how it feels for a father but the bond between a mother and her child is something that can't be separated. There is nothing at all that can make me to disown my child. No matter what that child does, that bond between me and him would always lean towards forgiveness.
