As some will know, I recently went on a trip to California and Canada. Uploading and sorting pics in batches so for today, I have some from Palm Springs and my first days in California.

Hair of the dog. This old English pub in a Palm Springs building seemed oddly out of place but nice to see.
Valley station of the Palm Springs aerial tramway. The kid in the picture was my host's son and fearless.
The cable cars. The base on these things rotates slowly so that everyone gets plenty of views.
Looking out over the Coachella valley.
Once at the mountain station, the view behind it and just to the right.

Deceptively deep in places.
Lonely icicle. I did try to get a close up of this but in slippery snow, a macro shot was challenging.
Sun starting to set. Those pesky trees were in the way of the good shots. Just beyond the snow you see here, there was a very steep drop.

View once dark from mountain station. Similar position to the previous shot. Played around a lot with this. Difficult with a slow lens.
