Alex I agree with you Bush should be hanged with rope made in Iraq. I'm not gonna even point the irony there.

Of course he isn't going to pull the troops out yet. There is still a shit load of money to be made there yet. This war will not be over until congress passes legislation making war profiteering illegal.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee

Although I agree that the war was illegal and Bush and Blair should also be tried for war crimes, there's responsibility to take here. If you're going to invade a country and fuck it over like what has happened, you should do your best to sort the mess out, not just leave them in the mess you created.

Come on now, guys. You can't hang someone for being stupid.

But concerning the war, The Iraq Civil War was inevitable. Its better to have people dying for freedom than living in oppression. Just like the American Revolution, or the English Civil War. And look how huge of an impact the outcome of the English Civil War had on history. Without it, we probably wouldn't have democracy anywhere in the world.

But still, I 100% agree that Bush used his power as Commander and Chief unconstitutionally. He pushed the boundaries of his power, and should have been impeached and removed from office.

EmperorKupcake,

It's a breath of fresh air to read an educated man's thoughts. I don't agree with your opinion on the President, but at least you're not using the "liar liar pants on fire" bit that I usually hear. :)

When you say living in oppression, I assume you meant under Sadam Hussein. Well he is dead and burried, so what freedom are they dying for now? This isn't a civil war as much as it is ethnic cleansing. Iraq is made up of three primary groups; the Kurds, Shi'i, and Sunni. While the Kurds basically keep to themselfs in the North, it's the Shi'i and Sunni that slaughter each other everyday.

Did you just compare the Iraq War to the American Revolution? In my opinion the American Revolution was and is more important than the Iraq War.

And the American Revolution, American Civil War, and English Civil War were all the same. There was the group of commoners fighting for freedoms against the rich and powerful. I'm no expert on Middle Eastern politics, but I'm really sure that whats going on in Iraq is essentially the same as any other civil war. I'm not sure which group, Sunnis or Shi'i represent the common Iraqi or the oppresive political group, but I know that those groups are represnted in those two parties.

I didn't imply that the AR was more important to the Iraq Civil War. I'm just saying that almost all revolutions or civil wars are amazingly similar. Of course the AR is more important than the Iraq Civil War because of the huge impact it had on the world at the time, and in the future. But, we still cannot really make any really acurrate statement, because it is possible, however unlikely, that the Iraq Civil War has a greater impact than the AR.

.

Sorry but you are mistaken about the English Civil War. There were rick and poor on both sides. It was a war between Parliment and Royalty which essentially paved the way for the country to be controlled by the military and then restoration of the monarchy. The common people were dragged into the fighting and had to choose who to fight for as it was imposible for them to hold the middle ground.

Heh, sorry. My European History isn't as up to par as it should be. Its all coming back to me now, though. The whole thing with the Absolute Monarchy vs. Parliamentary rule. Gotcha.

But I suppose, in a way, it stil is rich versus poor. Rich as in King, poor as in Nobles. Now, its not necessarily the commoners versus the monarchy, but it is still similar.

There were just as many rich people fighting for Parliment as there were for the monarchy. People might know that the war happened because Parliment was pissed off with the King being a dictator but having them in power didn't mean any more power to the common man. You're average Joe still couldn't vote and because of Oliver Cromwell's puretin attitude they were opressed even more than under the king as they couldn't sing, dance, party, celebrate Christmas and many other numorous things.
