According to reports, Bruce Campbell has given a bit of info on the upcoming Evil Dead Remake, and has confirmed that the character of Ash will not be returning. In an interview with TV Guide, Campbell had this to say:
"We are going to remake it. The first one. And people are a little iffy about that [but] we wanted to remake a movie with better effects and we're better at telling stories now... There's no 'Ash' character and that pisses people off [but] we didn't want to have the direct comparison. I wouldn't want to put an actor in that position."

So, thoughts on this? Personally, I haven't yet seen the Evil Dead films, but I know that Ash is a prominent character, and I think it's a bit odd to take the character out of the films if the fans are so up in arms abotu removing him, and if he's a big character in the films.
